Perceived soreness

Research on IPC is mixed. A randomized trial in elite youth soccer players found no recovery advantage over placebo across neuromuscular, biochemical, and perceptual measures after matches.

Evidence base is still developing

The review's own framing is that IPC 'lacks strong scientific support' as a category. Study quality ranged from fair to good on the PEDro scale.

Session length matters

Protocols of roughly 20–30 minutes at around 80 mmHg were the most commonly used in the reviewed research. This describes study protocols, not a recommended PULSE setting.

Post-workout soreness
After harder training sessions, my legs feel noticeably less beat up after using the boots. It's become one of the easiest parts of my recovery routine.
Heavy leg relief
After a long training day, my legs can feel extremely heavy. A compression session gives me that lighter, more relaxed feeling afterward.
Consistency
The biggest difference is how easy it is to stay consistent. I can sit down, put the boots on, and make recovery part of my normal routine.
Next-day comfort
I mainly notice the difference the following day. After tough workouts, my legs feel more comfortable and ready for my next session.
Compression feel
The compression gives my legs a deep, rhythmic pressure that feels great after training. I like being able to adjust the intensity depending on how my legs feel.
Long days on feet
Even when I haven't trained, my legs can feel tired after being on my feet all day. Using the boots gives me a dedicated recovery period and leaves my legs feeling more relaxed.
Back-to-back training
When I'm training several days in a row, PULSE has become part of how I wind down after workouts. It makes recovery feel more intentional instead of just waiting for my legs to feel better.
Honest take
The biggest benefit for me is how recovered my legs feel after a session. I wouldn't call it magic, but it has become a really useful part of my overall recovery routine.
